At the beginning and the end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents and carers. If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg you are delayed or another person is collecting your child), please let us know. This avoids any confusion or upset. Children in Key Stage 2 can be collected by the door next to pre-school, at home time.
To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits; it's healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike racks. If you do need to travel by car, we have spaces to park your vehicles, opposite the entrance to school. These are limited and it can get busy around drop off and collection times.
It is a parent's responsibility to ensure their children arrive at school on time. Lateness can disrupt the learning of others and can result in a pupil feeling greater stress and achieving poorer outcomes.
Every school, by law, has to register pupils twice a day; first thing in the morning at the start of the school day, and again in the afternoon session. If a pupil fails to attend or arrives late they will be marked as an absence for that session.
Research shows a close link between attendance at school and a child's achievement. Being late adds up to a loss of learning.
All time out of school affects learning and achievement for pupils. Please make sure your child arrives at school on time. Any child who arrives after registration should go to the School Office with parent/guardian where they will be signed into school.

Parking on or near to a junction obstructing the line of sight, is also enforceable by way of £30 fixed penalty notice and parking near to the school gates on the hatch markings obstructing the line of sight, which is enforceable by way of £30 fixed penalty notice.
We are, therefore, asking for the co-operation of yourself and other users of your vehicle in this matter, in order to help in reducing the risk of accidents occurring at the location. Please, if you must drive your children to or from school park well away from the school entrance and at a location which will not cause obstruction or a danger to any other person. As soon as your child is safely in the school or car, drive away promptly and safely, bearing in mind those children who are arriving/ leaving on foot.
